The 4th Edition of the Shutdown Day event is happening on the baseball court of the Jeanne Mance park this Sunday, October 3rd 2010, from 1pm to 3pm! (corner Avenue du Mont Royal Ouest / Rue Jeanne Mance)
What's happenining?
The baseball field of Parc Jeanne Mance will have one of its fences transformed into a huge mosaic of technology accessories comprised of old computer cables, power cords, small devices, components and wires of all kinds.
Shutdown Day's mission is to get you to "Turn off your computer and do something else!" So how about this: Organizers are inviting everyone to contribute to this community event, not only to show their support for the Shutdown Day cause but to also have a chance to win Gift Cards from Sports Experts for a total value of $500!
What do you have to do to be eligible to win?
1. Come to the park on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010 between 1:00PM and 3:00PM with your own old technology accessories such as computer mouses, small electronic devices, power cords and cables of all kinds (etc) and add it (them) to the mosaic
2. Film or take a picture of yourself in front of your portion of the mosaic (digital cameras and camera phones are all OK)
3. Come back here on Monday October 4th, 2010 to upload your video or picture to the Wall
4. Invite your friends to vote for your submission!
The 2 submissions that receive the most "Likes" - by Monday, October 18th 2010 - will win the 2 prizes!

* Participants can upload their videos and pictures anytime between Monday, October 4th, 2010 until Monday, October 18th, 2010. The winners will be announced right here on Thursday, October 21st, 2010. The contest is only open to those who can physically be at Parc Jeanne Mance in Montreal, Canada to contribute to the mosaic.
** We care about the environment too: The mosaic's components will be taken down at the end of the activity and disposed of properly, within city regulations.
